Calgary, AB – AltaLink is pleased to announce the recent appointment of Sue Lee and Don Chynoweth to its Board of Directors.
Sue Lee has announced her retirement from Suncor Energy where she held the position of Senior Vice President of Human Resources and Communications for 16 years. Before joining Suncor in 1996, Ms. Lee was Vice President of Human Resources at TransAlta Corporation. Among her accomplishments, Ms. Lee was inducted into the new Hall of Fame for Canada’s Top 100 Most Powerful Women in 2007 after being named to the Top 100 list multiple times by the Women’s Executive Network. She was also presented with the Alberta Centennial medal in 2005 in recognition of her outstanding contributions to the province. Ms. Lee holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in anthropology and psychology from Rhodes University, South Africa, and a postgraduate diploma in organizational behaviour from the Graduate School of Business Administration at the University of Witwatersrand, also in South Africa. She graduated from the ICD Corporate Governance College, Directors Education Program, in February 2006.
Don Chynoweth is Senior Vice President, SNC-Lavalin Operations & Maintenance and a member of the SNC-Lavalin Group Executive Committee. He is primarily responsible for the Logistics and Defence Divisions along with operational projects domestically and internationally. Prior to joining SNC-Lavalin Group, Mr. Chynoweth held positions with ATCO, Governments of Canada and Saskatchewan, and Enbridge (Interprovincial Pipeline Ltd). Mr. Chynoweth earned a Bachelor of Commerce degree from the University of Saskatchewan and completed the Executive Management Program at the Richard Ivey School of Business at the University of Western Ontario. Mr. Chynoweth is currently undertaking the Institute of Corporate Directors (ICD) program through the Rotman/Haskayne School of Business in Calgary. Mr. Chynoweth is also an active Board of Director with the Calgary Chamber of Commerce.
Headquartered in Calgary, with offices in Edmonton, Red Deer and Lethbridge, AltaLink is Alberta’s largest transmission provider. Its Board of Directors is comprised of a diverse group of experienced individuals all with the same goal of providing responsible stewardship for AltaLink.
