The Alberta Electric System Operator (AESO) has requested that AltaLink modify portions of the existing 202L transmission line to restore it to its designed capacity and meet the growing demands for electricity in the area.

AltaLink’s proposed project is located within Yellowhead County, approximately 40 kilometres southeast of the Town of Edson.

The project will involve minor equipment modifications and structure replacements for up to five structures on AltaLink’s existing 202L transmission line. These modifications will ensure sufficient clearance from the ground or other objects and enable the safe operation of the line at its designed capacity.
