To connect Pteragen Canada Inc.’s (Pteragen’s) Pteragen Peace Butte Wind Facility to
the grid, AltaLink is proposing changes to its transmission system. The project is located
in Cypress County, approximately 22 kilometres south of Medicine Hat.

To connect their proposed Pteragen Peace Butte Wind Facility to the grid, Pteragen is
constructing a new substation, called Tothill. AltaLink is proposing three changes to
accommodate the connection of Pteragen’s project, including:

• constructing approximately 230 metres of new 138 kilovolt (kV) transmisson line
  (to be named 600AL)
• modifying AltaLink’s existing 600L transmission line to connect to 600AL
• installing approximately two kilometres of underground fibre optic cable between
  the 964L/983L transmission line and Pteragen’s proposed substation
