AltaLink is performing vegetation management work in the Canmore area, including removing mature trees that are in danger of falling into power lines. Removing the potential for trees to contact power lines minimizes wildfire risk and supports a safe and reliable power system. This work is expected to begin in mid-November and be complete at the end of December 2024, with clean up occurring in 2025.
